The Girls Golf team began in the Spring of 2013 in large part to some very passionate people: students! There was a small group of girls that wanted to start a golf program and navigating through several hoops, they presented their idea to the SHS Board and were successful in their efforts! The girls began with almost 20 student-athletes, many of which had never played golf before. Many began to take lessons and started their golf journeys, and in the end, we have had 2 state qualifiers: Kateri Potter and Veronica Davis in 2018. The girl's program continues to develop and new Coach Miah Velez has them working hard to recapture some success after the challenging years of COVID.
